This is my first blog entry! I am so excited! In the past, I have read other people's blogs and decided, what the heck! Why not start one myself! If you did not read my "About Me" section, my name is Wendy Legeret. I was born in the lower Peninsula of Michigan and in 1976, my parents moved my brother and I up to the Upper Peninsula, or, as some have come to call it, "da U.P."! The Upper Peninsula is a beautiful place. Lots to do like taking walks along Lake Superior looking for agates, camping, "garage sale-ing", and fishing! Of course, there is a lot more to do, but those are a few of my favorites! So, who is Wendy Legeret anyway you ask? I am a freelance writer and designer who is looking for her first paying job. In 1999, I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English with an emphasis in writing. My love for writing started when I was in the fifth grade. Growing up, I would take my journal, walk through the woods to a hill that had a small amount of trees around it but lots of grass. I would sometimes sit for hours just thinking about what to write about but once I found my thoughts, I would jot them down so quick! Since then, I have been writing short stories, screenplays, television scripts, poetry, and songs. I've also been working on a romance novel for the past fifteen years, starting over and over! I will get 100 pages into it, not like what I have, and then scrap it! And you know what? I still haven't gotten past page 100! Maybe I'm being too picky! Anyway, this blog will be something that will get me into the practice of writing again. See, I haven't done much writing in a while. For the past five years, I ran my family's live fish store - yeah, I know - a fish store??? Well, that was another dream of mine to own a pet store! Now that it’s closed down, I will have more time to write again. Till next time! April 18, 2009 Today I ran my first race in the Norway Spring Classic - not the 10K run, but the fun run! LOL It was only two miles, but with me being an asthmatic, I was impressed with 30:16 as my time. Next year, I'll run it - not walk and run! Till next time! |
